MatchFM
Branding and ID
When Grupo Acir's partnership with Disney came to an end, the network needed a completely new naming convention and brand identity for their nationwide radio station. The challenge was to create a brand that resonated across major territories (Acapulco, CDMX, Colima, Culiacán, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, León, Mazatlán, Morelia, Puebla and Puerto Vallarta), reaching new audiences without losing the one that was built under the Radio Disney Brand. The catch? Radio Disney will still be on the air with a different broadcaster, in a different frequency.
Backed by iHeartRadio, the new identity had to boldly reflect its status as a fresh, audience-centric station. I developed the name MatchFM to embody this connection. Launched in late 2019, the brand remains on air and currently ranks among the top 10 most-listened-to stations in Mexico.
Visual Evolution
The visual identity was developed to represent the intersection of sound waves, digital connection, and the audience. Below is the progression from the core conceptualization and early morphological sketches to the final locked logo.
