Cinépolis
En el cine ya se paga con tarjeta
When Cinépolis first began accepting credit and debit cards—a major operational shift at the time—they needed a campaign to communicate this new convenience to moviegoers. While the television spot was already in production when I joined the project, the print campaign was stalled because the client hadn't connected with any of the proposed options.
To break the deadlock, I developed a simple but highly evocative graphic solution that bridged the world of cinema with the mundane act of paying by card. The print ads featured standard credit card receipts signed by iconic movie characters alongside their signature props—such as James Bond's handgun or Harry Potter's wand. It was a clever, universally recognizable way to declare that credit cards had officially arrived at the movies.
Print Campaign
The accompanying TV spot playfully subverted a classic cinematic trope—a tense, underground mob exchange for a highly coveted item (the Holy Grail)—where the comedic payoff is the villain pulling out a card reader to finalize the transaction.
